Samaritan’s Purse

Act of kindness is an important lesson to teach to my children. Recently we participated in Operation Christmas Child by Samaritan’s Purse with my daughter’s Girl Scout Troup. A nonprofit organization that share Christmas with children from around the world.

Our Girl Scouts Troop filled 7 boxes of Christmas gifts, school supplies and basic needs like socks. I was so proud to see all the girls really get into filling the boxes full. These recipients will feel loved by our troop.

Here is just one of the boxes we filled with Paw Patrol themed items. Other items they suggest are:

  • A ‘wow’ toy
  • Brush
  • Socks
  • Shoes
  • Craft
  • A Personal Note

Here is a link to other ideas.

You can drop off your shoebox at many locations. We picked one close to us and I recommend this location to anyone with kids. Christ the King Community Church on Avenue D in Snohomish had a wonderful staff to greet us, gave us Christmas cookies and a cardboard cut out for the kids to take pictures in. A wonderful experience all around. They accept shoeboxes the second full week in November but you can always make a box online and still get it to child by Christmas. Check it out here.

Happy Holidays to You!
